On 1 January Belgacom will make a number of rate adjustments

Starting 1 January 2012, Belgacom will index its rates: a number of fixed and mobile rates and some rates for fixed Internet will be raised by 3.41%. Belgacom will increase some mobile prepaid rate plans by 3.41% as of 19 January 2012.
Fixed-to-mobile calls can on average become much cheaper thanks to Happy Time XL.
Indexation of rates with 3.41%
As in other sectors and in accordance with its General Terms and Conditions and Belgacom will be indexing a number of rates on 1 January 2012. The increase of 3.41 % corresponds with the increase of the consumer price index from October 2010 and September 2011.
A few examples:
- a monthly subscription (Classic line) will cost €19.65 (instead of €19) from 1 January
- a national call with Happy Time:
- Still free of charge (during off-peak hours and the weekend)
- During peak-hours the rate will be 34.26 cents (instead of 33.13 cents) per call to a fixed number
- Internet Comfort will now cost €34.05 per month (instead of €32.92).
- Mobile Comfort 10:
- €10.34 (instead of €10.00) per month
- calls will cost 18.80 cents per minute (instead of 18.18 cents)
- 15.43 cents per SMS message (instead of 14.93 cents)
- a pack with Internet Comfort and Belgacom TV will now cost €45.00 per month (instead of €43.87)
- rates for calls to 1407 (1.29 EUR/call instead of 1.25 EUR/call) and 1404 (2.9 EUR/call instead of 2.8 EUR/call)
No indexation for the following rates:
- New Happy Time XL rates as from 1 October 2011:
- free of charge during off-peak hours to all fixed-line AND mobile numbers in Belgium
(not valid for special numbers (07x, 09xx, 1xxx, except for calls to and from the PhoneMail service) - for a flat rate (regardless of the length of the call) during peak hours (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on working days):
- 35 cents per call to a fixed-line number
- 50 cents per call to a mobile number
- free of charge during off-peak hours to all fixed-line AND mobile numbers in Belgium
- Simplified Classic calling rates (applicable as of January 1, 2012, announced in press release 30/09/2011):
- 5.3 cents per minute for a call to a fixed-line number (+ connection charge of 7 cents per call)
- 7.8 cents per minute for a call to a mobile number (+ connection charge of 10 cents per call)
- Per-minute rates for calls to marketing numbers (except for 078)
- Belgacom TV, with its continually expanding offer
- The price of packs combining fixed and mobile internet with a Samsung tablet
- The fixed to mobile rates for professional plans
- The recent mobile rate plans.
Lower fixed-to-mobile rates thanks to Happy Time X
L Thanks to Happy Time XL, residential customers with a Classic line subscribing to this plan (free subscription) call for free to fix AND mobiles between 17 and 8h and during week-ends. Belgacom was the first operator in Belgium offering this possibility.
The fixed-to-mobile rates for commercialized professional price plans are decreased as from January 1st.
Rate adjustment for a number of mobile rate plans
On 1 January 2012, Belgacom will index the rates of a number of old rate plans by 3.41% (old prepaid rate plans will increase by 3.41% as well as of January 19). Each customer can switch free of charge, at any time, to one of the new advantageous rate plans which are better adapted to his/her needs. Nothing changes with regard to sending and receiving SMSes and making and receiving calls abroad.

Customers can also call Customer Service at any time if they would like an analysis of their bill, with advice on what is the most suitable rate plan for them. Of course, customers can also consult the government websites: www.bestetarief.be and www.prijsbarometer.be.
